Chalklin MA11R Maxi-Tone Rattan Medium/Hard Vibraphone Mallets MAXI-11MH-R. Developed with heavy formulated rubber cores and wrapped in cord, these unique mallets were created for maximum attack on wide bar vibraphones. Made in seven grades on rattan handles, this evolution in tonal achievement will satisfy the most exacting professional demands. A revolution within the keyboard spectrum. Maxi Tone mallets were designed in collaboration between Chalklin and Bell. At the time it was felt there was a requirement in the market for a different style of vibraphone mallet. The core of each Maxi Tone is based on the Chalklin MS10 mallet at 28mm of rubber. The difference with the other styles of Rich Tone, Bright Tone and Mushroom is the brass washer underneath the central core which perfectly balances the weight between shaft and head whilst giving the player the maximum volume available with each strike.
