Mike Balter 223BB Birch Vibraphone Mallets 223BB. Balter 223BB mallets are part of the Shadow Series marimba mallets. These medium hardness mallets have black yarn and black birch handles. Each set of marimba mallets comes as a pair of two. These extremely well-balanced mallets were developed expressly for the concert marimba soloist. The black cord wound oval-shaped head on a long Black Birch Handle produces an articulate, detailed sound at al dynamic levels.
